Remembering your preferences

The wishlist remembers the watches you save and the currency you choose using local storage in your browser. Local storage is different from a cookie: it stays in the browser and is read by the site when you return to the same site address.

These preferences do not create an account or reserve a watch. They are not synchronised between devices or browsers.

How long saved choices remain

A wishlist or currency preference remains until you change it or remove this site’s browser data. Your browser may also clear stored data automatically. In private browsing, choices may disappear when the session closes. If storage is blocked, the interface may remember your choices only temporarily.

Analytics, advertising & embedded services

The site uses browser storage to remember your wishlist and currency preference. The watch illustration is delivered locally and does not load an external video player.

If analytics, advertising or embedded third-party services are introduced for launch, this notice must list their purpose, provider and duration, and the site must offer any consent choices required for that implementation. Optional tracking services require an appropriate update to this notice and any applicable consent choices.

Changing or clearing your choices

Remove individual watches from your wishlist, or change the displayed currency using the site’s currency controls. To reset the whole saved list and currency preference, use your browser’s privacy controls to remove data for this site.

Blocking all site storage may prevent the wishlist from remembering your selection. It does not stop you browsing the collection or contacting the team.

Links to other services

Email, WhatsApp and social-sharing links open a service you choose. That service may use its own cookies or storage when you visit it. Its own privacy and cookie notices apply to its platform.

Collector’s notes

01The inscription

Rolex · Ref. 6239 · 1968

Joanne Woodward gave Paul Newman this Daytona and had a message engraved on the back: “DRIVE CAREFULLY ME”. Collectors had long used his name for this style of dial. In 2017 his own watch sold at Phillips in New York for US$17,752,500.

02The double signature

Patek Philippe · Ref. 5711/1A-018 · 2021

Patek Philippe made 170 of these steel Nautilus watches for the 170th anniversary of its partnership with Tiffany & Co. Both houses signed the blue dial. The first example sold at Phillips for US$6,503,500 in 2021, benefitting The Nature Conservancy.

03The gold bezel

Audemars Piguet · Ref. 5402 · 1978

Gérald Genta acquired this example of his own design in 1978. Look at the contrast between the yellow-gold bezel and the steel bracelet. According to his family, Genta’s atelier made the bezel. Sotheby’s described the watch as possibly unique when it came to auction in 2022.
